Theme for 2011: "One in the apostles’ teaching, fellowship, breaking of bread and prayer." (Acts 2:42-47) The annual Week of Prayer for Christian Unity (PCU) gives witness to the unity that Jesus asked for when he prayed “that they all may be one” (John 17:21) and focuses on all that Christians of many traditions have in common.
Ever since it was established in 1908, the week has been observed each year from January 18 to January 25 in the northern hemisphere and at Pentecost in the southern hemisphere.

Celebrating the 20th Anniversary of the Economy of Communion
"Gold examines the origins and substance of a promising alternative to the current globalized economy. During a 1991 trip to Brazil, Chiara Lubich challenged Focolare members to launch businesses that could create jobs and opportunities. Almost twenty years later, Benedict XVI cited the Economy of Communion in Caritas in Veritate as a promising form of intermediate activity between for-profit business and classic non-profit institutions."

The Center for World Catholicism and Intercultural Theology at DePaul University, Chicago, Illinois, U.S.A. sponsored World Catholicism Week 2010 from April 20 to 23, a conference on the globally interdependent dimensions of the Roman Catholic experience of faith. Two days were dedicated to Benedict XVI’s encyclical on economic globalization, Caritas in Veritate.
