"We want to create a rainbow of love all over the world," the participants wrote in a letter to the international organizers of Run4unity.
Here is the invitation that went out to children and teenagers in the El Paso area in May:
Teens for Unity is organizing a worldwide relay race called Run4unity from 10:00 am to 12:00 am in all the different time zones. Youngsters of different ethnic groups, cultures and religions will run united together along significant places across our planet, forming a symbolic rainbow of peace over the world.
The participants who answered the call wrote,
"We want to create a rainbow of love all over the world."
One month after the Run4unity event, the same group of Teens for Unity launched a project called "Color the City," an opportunity for them to contribute to a united world by starting in their own community. Projects include volunteering at a church and daycare center.
