One of the most renowned persons of the 1900’s, father of 4 children, writer, journalist, politician, ecumenist,  expert on the Fathers of the Church and co-founder of the Focolare Movement, for his contribution to the spreading of the charism of unity, especially in the family,  in ecumenical,  political and various other aspects of society.

Earthquake in Central Italy

map-of-italy - earthquake.gifIn response to many questions, we wanted to share with everyone some news of the effects of the violent earthquake that hit central Italy and killed 200 people.

It sparked a wave of solidarity and support. In fact about 70 people were saved because of the promptness of the rescuers.

We got in touch with the local Focolare community. All the Focolare people in the area are now welcoming those who cannot go back to their homes.

A great friend of Chiara Lubich and of the Focolare Movement she founded, Imam Warith Deen Mohammed, leader of the largest constituent of Muslims in America, will be greatly missed. He died on September 9 in his home in Markham, Illinois, at age 74.
