Experiences of Life

The Word of Life Project is an initiative for 2012 to not only read the word of life and put it into practice,
but to share the real-life results of doing so. This collection of testimonials is meant to encourage all of
us to pick up the word of life, read it, live it and share it. Stay tuned for an experience submission form!

There are no translations available. These stories from two little girls show that even the youngest among us are capable of living out Jesus' words. Jessica, 6, has a pair of winter boots. These boots are two years old, and just this year, we noticed that there were holes in the bottom of the boots. So every time Jessie went outside, she would come back in sad because her socks were wet and her feet were cold. Sammie, her 8-year-old sister, saw that Jessie was upset, and decided to love her. She took off her own winter boots and offered them to Jessie. Jessie was so excited but was wondering what Sammie would wear if Jessie had Sammie's boots. Sammie went to her closet and pulled out her rain boots. She told Jessie that she was going to wear the rain boots so Jessie could have warm feet, and they could both go out and play in the snow together! Jessie also has been loving like Jesus and wanted me to share this act of love with you. Jessie received some money from her Grandma for Christmas. She took the money to the store and bought a very small stuffed animal. She wanted to show her friends at school her new toy. But, out on the playground, one of her friends had fallen down and was hurt. Jessie ran over to comfort this friend, and gave her friend the new stuffed animal that she just got. Her friend stopped crying and held on to the stuffed animal. Jessie felt very good inside for helping her friend by loving. Her teacher was very proud of her and needed to share the story with me when I picked up Jessie from school that day. He said that he has not seen this amount of kindness from a child so young!
