The spirituality of unity, a gift for our times, was the title of a study day to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the Focolare in North America. It was organised by a group of academics who are involved in a project at Fordham University.

Fordham University, founded and run by the Jesuits, has two campuses in New York. The main campus is in the Bronx, while the Law School is in Manhattan. A smaller site, it is in the heart of the “Big Apple”, near the Lincoln Centre, the New York Philharmonic, the Ballet School… and only a few blocks from Broadway. It is a part of New York rich in art and culture.

Chiara Luce Badano (1971-1990) will be beatified Saturday, Sept. 25th, 2010 at the Shrine of Our Lady of Divine Love in Rome, Italy.

 

Bishop Maritano, promoter of the cause, said Chiara Luce is "an incredible witness of faith and strength for the youth of today". And Chiara Lubich, founder of the Focolare Movement, said in 2000: "How much light in her words, in her letters in her life. She is a model and witness both for youth and for adults".

 

On Saturday, Sept. 25 there will be a live streamed event the Paul VI Hall in Vatican City for the Youth Festival entitled "Chiara Luce: Life - Love - Light. "

Those following the link up will meet in the venues below (click read more). For those who will not be able to join us, you can follow the Youth Festival beginning at 3 p.m. EDT / noon PCT at http://live.focolare.org/ in Italian, English or Spanish.

 

The beatification Mass will be broadcast by EWTN (www.ewtn.com) on Sept. 25 at 10 a.m. EDT. The Youth Festival will be recorded and played back on EWTN at 4 a.m. EDT on Sunday, Sept. 25
