• 15/1 Tokyo - Meeting with the Buddhist movement Rissho Kosei Kai
• 16/1 Tokyo - Meeting with the Focolare community.

January 17-31 - Philippines

• 1/19-20 Mariapolis Pace, Tagaytay  - Meeting with Focolare delegates from Asia
• 1/24 Manila - Meeting with the Focolare communities of Manila, Tagaytay and Hong Kong
• 1/28 Manila - Address to the Pan Philippines retreat for bishops and priests
