Chiara Lubich's message of the 25 December 1973, addressed to the members of the Focolare Movement.

«If I should have to leave this world today and you were to ask me for a single word, one last word that sums up our Ideal, I would say – certain of being perfectly understood – ‘Be a family’.

Claritas is a new online academic journal, published by Purdue University Press in cooperation with the Focolare's Città Nuova publishing house in Rome. Scholars from around the world are looking forward to its first issue.  Callan Slipper, an Anglican theologian and one of the editors and designers of this project, answers some questions about it.

Seventeen organizations and movements
make a difference at a health fair
in San Diego 

 It’s a sunny morning in the Martin Luther King Jr. Park in San Diego, a green area that is the central recreational site in the neighborhood. Home mostly to disadvantaged families in which, come the end of the month, there’s little money left. Meals tend to be low cost — burgers, fries, and no fresh fruit or vegetables.
