In response to many questions, we wanted to share with everyone some news of the effects of the violent earthquake that hit central Italy and killed 200 people.

It sparked a wave of solidarity and support. In fact about 70 people were saved because of the promptness of the rescuers.

We got in touch with the local Focolare community. All the Focolare people in the area are now welcoming those who cannot go back to their homes. 

There are many experiences:

"The night before the quake, a young person spent the night at a friends house to keep her company because she was alone. This act of love saved her life, because the earthquake destroyed her house."

Emmaus, the president of the movement, called the Focolare center in that area, and shared with them that “God will help us live the ‘Word of Life’ this month.  I am sure that a new union with God and much fruit will spring up from this situation.”
