The Prophecy Makes History: 20 Years of Economy of Communion

This international EoC assembly will take place on the occasion of the twentieth anniversary of the Economy of Communion, launched by Chiara Lubich in Brazil, in May 1991.
The event will be a celebration and a reflection, a chance to deepen and understand the steps necessary for future development from 2011 to 2031:to continue to believe in an economy of communion, to live it, to make it grow beyond all boundaries, to plant trees that we cultivate today and which will bear fruit tomorrow.

We asked John Mundell, an EoC business owner in Indianapolis, IN about this special event and he replied:

‘We are really looking forward to being together with other business owners and entrepreneurs in the birthplace of the EoC in 1991.  This event really is an opportunity to look both ‘backward’ and ‘forward’, to see all that has happened and taken place under the name ‘Economy of Communion’, its beginnings, its growth and development.  We will also be looking ahead to what we need to grow towards and the realistic challenges that lie ahead.  We especially want to better understand the idea of what it means to work ‘in communion’, within our companies, with the local geographic communities in which our companies operate, and with the global community.  And to do all of this so that we can better realize the dream that Chiara had:   ‘no one in need’.
