The Word of Life Project is an initiative for 2012 to not only read the word of life and put it into practice,
but to share the real-life results of doing so.  This collection of testimonials is meant to encourage all of
us to pick up the word of life, read it, live it and share it.  Stay tuned for an experience submission form!

I work as a night shift transplant nurse and I had this patient who has been waiting for a liver transplant for a while. I was concerned that he might not be able to live long enough to get a new liver.

During the early morning of March 1st, he told me that he wished to live longer in order to witness his daughter's wedding. He added that he sees every new day as a day closer to his transplant. I told him that I admire his positive disposition despite all that he has gone through. I noticed a rosary hanging on his bedside lamp so I told him that I will pray for him to get a liver transplant very soon. I remembered the Word of Life, “Nothing will be impossible for God.” (Lk 1:37). So I also told him that I will pray for the doctors to tell him that his last meal would be breakfast that day because he will have a liver transplant that night. I silently said a prayer through Chiara Luce's intercession for my patient.

When I came back for my shift on the night of March 1st, I read the report on this patient. Surprisingly enough, it stated that the doctors ordered nothing to eat or drink for him after lunch that day because he will have his liver transplant in the early morning of March 2nd.

I was so amazed at what I read that my eyes welled up in tears. I did not realize that someone was really listening to my prayers. I learned from this experience that we should not worry especially if we live the present moment well because God will take care of us.
