The Word of Life Project is an initiative for 2012 to not only read the word of life and put it into practice,
but to share the real-life results of doing so.  This collection of testimonials is meant to encourage all of
us to pick up the word of life, read it, live it and share it.  Stay tuned for an experience submission form!

Justice in the workplace Imprimir Correo electrónico

At work on Fridays, myself and another nurse's examiner each choose a patient in a medical and surgical unit whom the nursing students will use to take their weekend examination.

Not every patient is suitable for the exam.  If a patient is too sick, his condition might change; if he is too well he might be discharged before the end of the weekend testing.

Because of the Word of Life, I started to take an attitude of justice.

“Justice will bring about peace; right will produce calm and security." (Is 32;17)

I decided to look for one patient for myself and to also make sure the other examiner would have one good patient to start the weekend.  Just by saying, " I found two good cases, do you need one to get started?" was enough to show my concern to my co-worker.  She was surprised.

I can see the work environment starting to change. We are working together instead of competing against each other for the most suitable patients for the tests.  My workplace is becoming like a family.
