Experiences of Life

The Word of Life Project is an initiative for 2012 to not only read the word of life and put it into practice,
but to share the real-life results of doing so. This collection of testimonials is meant to encourage all of
us to pick up the word of life, read it, live it and share it. Stay tuned for an experience submission form!

There are no translations available. Sometime ago I moved from Dallas to San Antonio and started to look for a job. I had an interview setup and my friend dropped me at the place. We agreed that she would pick me up when the interview was over. As soon as I was finished, I called my friend. She said that she was on the way. Knowing that it would take only 10 to15 minutes to get there, I decided to wait outside the building. Twenty minutes went by and I started to get impatient. I walked back and forth in the parking lot, trying to calm down, but the more I waited, the more impatient I got. When she arrived I got in the car with a long face, not saying much. When I got home, I went upstairs to read the Word of Life. I was not able to concentrate on it because I did not have peace inside me. A phrase kept coming to my mind: “Therefore, if you bring your gift to the altar, and there recall that your brother has anything against you, leave your gift their at the altar, go first and be reconciled with your brother, and then come and offer your gift.” (Mt 5:23-24). It was then that I decided to go to my friend and apologize for being so upset. It was a beautiful moment and, though simple, both of us started over. Peace returned within me and going back to reading the Word of Life, I felt a new relationship with Jesus within me. M.B., Texas
