Experiences of Life

The Word of Life Project is an initiative for 2012 to not only read the word of life and put it into practice,
but to share the real-life results of doing so. This collection of testimonials is meant to encourage all of
us to pick up the word of life, read it, live it and share it. Stay tuned for an experience submission form!

There are no translations available. Recently, my daughter needed to be at a rehearsal a few miles outside our city. We arrived in plenty of time, and since the rehearsal would last two hours, I considered dropping her off and leaving with my son. However, the winter weather was not conducive. We decided to stay and pass the time reading, writing letters, etc. The group was late getting started and finishing, and I was looking forward to going home and getting to bed. Then, after the rehearsal was over, I could see that the person who was responsible for setting up needed help to put the space back in order. “Whoever obeys and teaches these commandments will be called greatest in the kingdom of heaven.” (Mt 5:19) I wanted to be obedient to God's will, which was to help her, and so my son and daughter and I made ourselves available, moving a number of chairs and assisting with the loading of some equipment. We stayed until all the work was done. When we left, my daughter thanked me for being so patient about the time. I could see that by making myself one with the person responsible, my daughter also felt loved, and we all left happy. J.H., Texas
