"Today was a fun day," a participant reflected. "I will try to use the Golden Rule every day."

As the clock struck 12 p.m. in the Central Time Zone, a good-sized group of teens took the imaginary baton and began running their leg of the world-wide relay in 100-degree Texas temperatures, as a way to give witness to a united world.

The teens walked the neighborhood streets towards Concepcion Park. Drivers honked their horns, giving thumbs up in agreement with the teens’ high ideals.

The race was followed by games and a "Time-Out" for prayer peace around the world. 

The link-up with other teens in Rome riveted their attention, drawing them into the world-wide reality of unity they were building that day.  Throughout the presentations by the teens: songs, dances and games, an atmosphere of love and unity prevailed.  Many brought school supplies for children who might need them as part of the “Coloring the City” project.
